Description
This presentation will discuss preliminary findings from Dr. Olfson's TAA Young Investigator Award project. Research has long demonstrated the important role of genetic factors in Tourette Syndrome (TS) and other chronic tic disorders. Through collaborating with the Tourette International Collaborative Genetics (TIC Genetics) study, we analyzed genomics data from parent-child trios consisting of a child with a chronic tic disorder and both of their biological parents to characterize the joint effects of common and rare genetic risk factors. Our results demonstrate that probands inherit from their parents a higher polygenic risk score for TS, OCD, ADHD, ASD and depression.
